Default Germination and Stuff, Flotation Method?

Over the years, I have tried virtually all methods of Germination, even planting directly in the soil, Soaking and the tried and trusted Tissue method, and to be perfectly honest, I am not very good at any of them.
Yes, they all work, for some, but being a 'Brown' fingered Grower, I get a lot of failures and as we all know, seeds are expensive!
A few years back, I was reading a book on Gardening and came across a method, which I now use exclusively, it's called the Flotation Method.
Basically, it's very easy to drown seeds, which I have found out to my cost, they need Air and water and more importantly patience, the last I am sadly lacking.
With the Flotation Method, you get a glass of water and put the seeds in, you also need darkness and warmth, let them float on the surface, using the surface tension of the water, and leave them there, do not sink them!
The seeds are getting Air and water and can be safely left bobbing about for a week, without drowning, this kind of contradicts the soaking method, but only half of the seed is submerged, so all is O.K.
After about three days, they start to tail, and when that's about half an inch long, I plant them. It really works well for me, I haven't had a failure in a long time.
Next time you are Germinating seeds, or if you have some 'Difficult' ones, try one using this method, I personally won't use another way EVER!
I have left a 'Difficult' seed floating for TEN days before and it worked, it's amazing.

I think we can put folks into 4 main camps:

    1. Water to medium
    2. Water to paper towel to medium
    3. Straight to medium
    4. Starter plug to medium

    Is that about right?

I put them into wet paper towels then into medium, no pre soaking.

I’m the most non green fingered person alive lol, i’ve seen quite a few do it the same way as you, I tried straight to soil last week and it didn’t work for me but I might have planted it a bit too deep but I’ve managed to save it, usually put it in some warmish tap water and then put it into a kitchen cupboard for 24 hours, then after that into dampish kitchen roll and then into a takeaway tub/microwaveable tub with a lid and then I wrap it in a thick hat and put it into my drawer in the living room and within 2 days-3 days max it’s ready to be planted, everyone has their own way and I’m glad you’ve found what works for you m8

I first started Toking when I was 15, that was in 1965, I am 71 years old and now get Stoned just once a week, from Monday to Sunday, that works for me as well, a good reply though, appreciated.
