Are you sure yours is a par meter and not a lux meter George? Par meters have always been pricey. Not the one I have, it was really cheap, but the others were all over 100 bucks at the time. Yes it is A par meter.

While Par, Watts and light distance are important. I went with Blue light for seedlings to mid veg. I have two HLG 100 4000K lights. When the seedings break dirt I put them on one light between 24" to 30". So I start at 30" and lower it a inch or so a day down to 24". Seeing that the HLG 100's don't have a dimmer it's distance only control. Soon as the first node becomes reality they get transplanted into the permeant containers. Then the other HLG 100 is turned on. The 4000K in and of it's self helps big time with stretch and keeps the nodes very tight and compact as the main stem and roots grow thick and strong. After the first topping the HLG 260 is fired up. This will be interesting on this grow because my 260 will be upgraded to Rspec boards and there will be two lights in the tent instead of one and both lights will have a dimmer.

I think this brand here was around 30 bucks 5 years ago. It was the only one at that price. The company might have made A mistake when listing the price, seems like, because all the others at that time was about 179 and up. I've notice today, that this brand is well over 300, so they might have figure out that they had the wrong listing on the light years ago. lol

It may have been the previous model. My IR thermometer used to be £200 until the next model came out, when it dropped to £20.

Far from the best on the market, but it does read right. I have tested it against Sun Times, and it is right on. HydroFarm Horticulturl Products: ( Active eye). Not cheap any more like it was when I bought mine.
