Controlling your environment is key, I keep my temperature at around 18c and humidity at 65% for the first few days then 55% for the remaining. I also have a small fan aimed at the floor to create some gentle airflow and they hang for around 7-10 days

When I dried mine I had the extraction on the lowest setting and didn't have any smell issues. Are you using a carbon filter?

Hang drying weed shouldn’t smell, musky maybe but if you smell “weed” it’s too warm & the terpenes are escaping.

Do what you can to cool the room so the air entering the tent is cool & keep humidity up.

I didn't know that lower temps = less odour. Thanks B1unt.

Explains why I wasn't getting that much odour in the cellar. I would wet trim and at RH80% and <16'C it would take 14 days or so to dry. I'd also burp them in the cellar. imo RH% in the low 60s is the natural state of trimmed bud and they'll find their way down to that in conditions of higher humidity. I might start using the cellar for drying again.

For this grow, I'll be doing the same as GG is planning. Largish brown paper bags under the garden tray in the groom.

I agree with cool temp's to dry without smell. When my A/C went out my whole grow room had a delightful skunk aroma. I liked it but the ole lady didn't.

    Dunno about this one.
I kept my dry at 18/60 throughout but still catch whiff when I walk upstairs as they aren't in my tent. Plus all the accounts of "my weed smells like hay" from the majority of first-time harvesters.

Pot smells. Wet, dry and in between.

    Cheers
