    Default Switching to photos?

    How's it going everyone.

I'm now part way through my second run with autos and I keep running into the same issues. Also with the price of energy going up and the Ukraine situation likely to exacerbate the problem I'm considering the switch to photos and have a few questions.

First is, how many plants and in what size final container could I get in a 4x2. Two plants in 10l for example?

Secondly, how long do you guys generally veg for? Obviously if saving energy/money is a requirement it's not going to run out cheaper if I need to veg for 3 months?

Thirdly, how many times do you pot up, and how long between each one?

I'm sure I'll think of some other questions but that'll do for now

Id do 2 plants, 3 max. Started out 24/0 until 1st transplant, then wemt 18/6, then finally 12/12
The longer you veg, the more yield.
How many transplants depends on your final pot size. I went from solo cup->3 gal->5 gal. Transplanted when leaves extended past diameter of pot.

I think going photos is the way to go.

    I would do 2x 5 gallon (20 L). Veg for 6 - 8 weeks, depending on how they look.

Also keep in mind your plants will be considerably bigger with photos, especially with 5+ gal pots and longer veg times.

Another cost benefit of photos is you don’t have to continually buy seeds, find a pheno you like and it can last you years.

With photos one also needs to plan for the stretch during flower. You don't want to run out of light distance spacing. Generally I'll let mine grow to half my "usable" light distance in the event my plants decide to double in height.

I usually go straight into the pot they will finish in most of the time. I have found I can't really see any difference in potting up. JM

What blue said. Maybe even 3 x 5gal. It takes me 2 months to fill 3,3x3,3 with 4 plants and I veg under 24/7 light. (Just 100w first month)

As you may have seen I rly try to make my plant grow wide so by the time it's flower they are not to tall xD

I think I would also go down the training route. Not just because you get even coverage and it looks good, but because I like touching them up
