Terrible HPS and tents for humidity. But you’ll probably find the heat more benefit than the lack of humidity,it’s just getting them through that rough first bit,but once they are they’ll be fine.
Are you able to turn down the bulb with the ballast ? Maybe start at 250w if so.
That's so true about HID lamps and humidity. Right now my little 150w HID lamp is drying-out my groom more than I would like. I plan to lower the tent temperature a bit to keep the humidity from getting any lower. Will likely need to water more frequently.

How was the rootball when you transplanted?

I just moved them to 5 gal pots yesterday. The roots were growing out of the bottom of the pot I had them in they looked pretty good. I'm pretty sure I had the dirt 2 wet without good enough drainage. The dirt was real wet when I transplanted.Click image for larger version.

Having the hps was worrying me so I scraped that idea and picked up a spider farmer sf4000. That light is a beast and only adds 2-4 degrees to my tent.

Sf4000 is a neat light! You can add a small fan over thr light blowing down. That way the heat gets pushed down and not sucked out.

I would get the habit and loft up you pots when they are wet ans when you feel days later and they are light you water. This sounds weird but I time you lift up the pot and(yuuuuup) time for water
