I have a lot of pumice and I was wondering if I could use it instead of perlite in hempy buckets? Also, should I use a third vermiculite?

Shouldn't be an issue in the slightest

Firstly, welcome to the forum Squirrelly, nice to have you here
I'd actually choose pumice over perlite, reason I say this is because I did a lot of research on the subject and pumice is a little heavier so won't float to the top like perlite does, and it last longer, drains just as well as perlite and is PH neutral (like perlite is).
The reason why I don't use it is because it's difficult for me to get it as cheap as perlite, unfortunately.
On a side note, Fytocell is also a great alternative to perlite.
Since you have a lot of pumice..then absolutely go for it!
Pumice contains lots of trace minerals. Volcanic rock is usually very good for plants.
I would use it without reservation.
Wish I could! I used to spend a whole bunch of money on pumice for bonsai soil. Folks who live where I live have no luck. Out on the west coast, they'd be able to pick up truckloads of the stuff! Killer.
Good luck.

It may be common?
Working on the theory "if it ain't broken"
I use volkanics ( coarse perlite) originally as a substitute for clay pebbles at the bottom of the bucket above outlet hole
One day I thought (dangerous I know).. Why not fill the whole bucket with the volkaniks?
It works a treat
Jp
Of course you can!
It's porous and gives lots of space for microbes to hang out. It's my first choice and no perlite dust to deal with.
