Following as I've just set up in a shed but I've just lined walls with double bubble foil but left a air pocket behind all over. The other day my fans had to go at speed 5 because of heat. Even tho sound wasn't bad I could hear it because I know its there.

Thanks for dropping in Fluffy Bud,
That's the problem I find with sheds, they run hot in the summer and cold in the winter, the only way to fix this is you have insulate every inch of the shed, every inch of my shed has(walls, celling and the door) has 100mm Rockwall between the cladding and the 9mm chipboard inside the shed, could of used MDF(better finish but any damp and it falls apart).
The floor has floorboards, hardboard and vinyl, so it should be ok.

I have channeled the base so the air in and air out can't mix and this can't be seen from the outside the shed.

An idea I had for a shed grow, (not that I have a shed,) was to use the gizmo that lets you turns things on and off from your phone. As long as the shed is lightproof, no need for a tent or lightproof cab inside the shed. Use the phone to turn off the grow lights before opening the shed door.

That's a great idea but i am going to use half the shed (1.1m x 1.8m), build a flower room(1.1m x 1.40m) and veg room (30cm x 80cm) next to each other, light proof the doors and paint the inside white, will be covering any small gaps with thick masking tape, use the first part as storage, so I can leave the door open and you would not suspect a thing.

Doors on the other side but with this design, you can hide the grow rooms.[

I used to veg and flower with open cabs in the same cellar room. All the lights were run from the 12/12 timer. The vegging cab had a 15w pygmy bulb on a dimmer 24/0. Enough to stop them flowering, not enough light to get into the flowering cab.

how I have channeled the airflow under the shed, used a 5-6" reducer and fixed in place, the height of the void is 2" and width is 10" , the hole is 5" wide in the vinyl.
intake airflow is 4" x 10" in the vinyl, 2" high which is a big improvement over my last shed.

need to warm the intake air up before it enters the flower room/veg room, don't want cold air hitting my girls

Raised veg floor 6" and channel the intake air, between tube heaters, will need the veg floor on a hinge so I can access the tube heaters, will need a few 1ft tube heats so I can control temperature more effective depending on the time of year and this will also prevent light leak and reduce noise leaking out of the intake vent.

The flower room fans, filter will all be above the veg room, don't want the fans too close to the canopy or ducting taking room up in the flower room, I want the flower room to be a empty white box ready to be filled with plants and lights.

Been a few busy days, I finished the flower room and the veg room is done(painted white), just need to put the door on.
I wanted to build the cheapest led I could, that uses the least amount of electric but would still give me good results.
The led reflector is good for about 12" before it drops too low.

Will be setting the LEDS up tomorrow, my guess is 25,000 lux edges and about 35,000 6" off the edges, maybe 40,000 center.

Time will tell, looking for best value for the electric used and cost of the led.
Shed may of cost over £1200 but that could last 10 years.
Tried playing my music full volume (phone) in the shed, can't hear it outside the shed, so that's a good start.

The veg room is 60cm long, 30cm wide and 70cm high, just enough to fit 4 x 2.5ltr pots(6" high) with 4 plants(max plant height without pot, about 10"), not 100% ideal but I would only need 2 x 13w bulbs no reflector, should be able to pull this off with topping and LST.

The new leccy prices are turning us into accountants. I was half way there already as I enjoy playing with numbers when I'm stoned.

    8" rvk @ 40% power = 80w. AC Infinity S4 at 100% power = 28w. The S4 will pay for itself in less than 38 weeks.

    2 x HLG 100 24/0 = £10 a week, temps too low. 315w cmh 24/0 = £17 a week, temps 25'C. When using led, can I get the canopy from 20'C or lower, to 25'C with only a quid a day spent on heating? £1 gets me 3.33 kw/h. That's about 14w over 24 hours. Not going to happen.

Will an unheated led grow give me a lower or higher growing cost than an unheated cmh grow? The cmh has given 1.0 gpw. If the led gives more than 1.0 gpw at low temps, then it's cost effective.

Perhaps breeders will start offering strains bred to give good yields at low temps.
