Shed build was the beginning of the post. Happened a while ago.

Sorry Fluffy bud its not something I can do very often, Must admit, I need to add more installation into the flower room,
Can't really do anything with my lights, ratio of light spread vs heat makes them the perfect balance between HPS and very effective LEDS at a budget price.

Hoping with the right amount of installation I can use some tube heaters when the lights off. keeping the temps over 18c lights off and 25-30c lights on, with the help of my fan controller(extraction fan, no intake fan), I thinking about reducing the flower room down to 1.2m x 1m.

Not looking forward to the Christmas crop.

There great £15 for 25 connectors( just the right amont)
    Attachment 426578

    Attachment 426579

All working, fan/light switches on at the same time
There is a led very similar to mine on the market now, with a few extra controls.
But your paying loads, 300 each

I used LED panels for several crops over the last year and was delighted with the results. I found them highly effective and reliable; their efficiency never seemed to drop. Around four months ago, a friend asked me to create an LED setup, so I opted for bulbs instead.

I experimented by cutting the plastic cap in half and leaving it on the bulb, creating a safety measure to prevent hands from touching the bare LED chip. To my surprise, redirecting the overspilled light onto the canopy increased the light output from the bulb by 10%. Adding foil further increased the output. I tried cutting the cap at various points, even cutting it twice and reattaching it to the bulb. This trial-and-error process lasted about two months and involved testing around 30 bulbs until I achieved the best results.

In the next phase, I coated the caps in foil tape and then tried spraying them with different colored paints (reflectors). Over time, the reflectors became more effective, becoming over 60% more efficient with the foil tape. However, I switched to chrome spray, which still increased light by about 50%. This excess light on the canopy worked well, but without a heat sink, the bulbs ran hot (I used an Infrared Thermometer). Consequently, the bulbs burned out quickly, and having fewer bulbs meant they needed to be placed higher above the canopy to achieve an even light spread, which was not ideal.

So, I conducted some research and watched several online videos. I discovered that removing one of the parallel resistors dropped the wattage from 13.3W to 6.1W, making the bulbs run at a cooler temperature (35-45°C). This modification resulted in bulbs that lasted much longer, produced less heat, and emitted more light per watt (10-20% more light). Store-bought LED bulbs are typically pushed to their maximum capacity, causing them to burn out every couple of years. There's a thermal chip that reduces the wattage to maintain temperatures around 80°C.

With double the number of light bulbs, the light spread became very even. However, I had to buy double the bulbs and make the reflectors, which took about 40 hours of work. Despite the effort, the results were astounding; I am now running at less than 21W per square foot, and the plants are receiving 20% more light.

    my plants in flower
Plants: 4 Bruce Banner feminized plants in 20-liter pots.
Stage: 7 days into the flowering phase (12/12 light cycle).
Light Intensity: Plants are receiving between 40,000 to 50,000 lux.
Room Size: Flowering room dimensions are 2.2m x 1m.
Lighting: Using LED panels pulling 499W from the wall. I have incorporated 12 bulbs (6500k) to create a full spectrum, which helps reduce stretching in the early flowering stage.

Here two pictures of the plants, the plant ring is 45cm wide, as the plants grow I will be using one on each plant.

10 days in flower and I have been pulling the shoots down and spacing them out, so the light can get deep into the canopy, the plant ring is 18" wide

Thanks MrG, I do think leds are a move in the right direction, but when I look at some of the old grow diary's I start to wonder if the the old 600w HPS are more effective, there something off about leds.
