These may be rookie questions, for that, I apologize:

What constitutes best? Height, bud weight, etc? If production is a rubric, for example, then why would anyone choose to grow photos?

In my opinion there is no specific factor that is 'best', ultimately it comes down to a public vote, and what makes members choose one entry over another could be for a variety of reasons and will/can change..one year it could be a plant with an obvious beastly yield/bud weight that wins, another time it could be simply down to how nice the plant looks, or the colour on display..it's a bit of fun with no set 'best'.

i am no pro when it comes to cannabis horticulture, so i could be wrong, but my understanding is that photos are more productive if you have the patience because you can veg them until they are huge. there was a plant grown by somebody here that produced something like 1.7kg if i remember correctly. he was a legend around here before our time, but he is dead now R.I.P. i wish i could remember his name, hopefully somebody can help me out, his diary was an inspiration for growers everywhere!
