Default Can you use both led and hps?

Had amazing results with hps on my first ever grow

Switched to Telos 10 pro for my second run and will shortly know whether that was a success or not
(My opinion is it wasn’t anywhere near as good in terms of yield as my first run)

I’m apprehensive about using the LEDs again as I am so inexperienced and the hps run was a doddle.

My question is can I use 2 x shades with hps bulbs and 1 x led in there?

Kind of feel gutted that I have wasted so much on 3 x led units so if I could still use one of them it would soften the blow of wasting all that money lol

    Cheers Bobby

Your not alone, I used LED a few years back and what a load of crap the plants turned out to be all fluffy spongy stuff so never used them again. But now I've jumped back in because they've advanced since I used them. See how my diary goes

It’s a weird one mate, I thought they were all bleached half way through and contemplated pulling the plug now when I took down to harvest there were no albino heads at all.

The nuggets are awesome and feel very nice compared to my last lost but I very much doubt the yield is anywhere near was it was with the hps bulbs

I've always used hps can't fault them. I'm growing in a shed now so with the warm temps coming it'll get hot in there so yhis is one reason why I went to led but at the minute I've also left one hps up too but put it at 400w because of temps.
This grow is not a day 1 grow from LED tho I started using it just before flip. But next time around will be a true comparison Click image for larger version.

Same reason I went with LEDs was due to the summer months coming.
If my yield isn’t too far off my previous ones then I may go with them again (LEDs) but if not then I will revert back and try and learn as much as I can about them because they are much trickier to get right I believe

From what I've read the distance is different and light intensity is different. Someone on here will be able to help more with that

What kind of temps were you running ?

As led run cooler I have to supplement heat when growing in the colder months.
I found the warmer it was the more they thrived.
I also supplement cal/mag throughout mostly as they need more of that also when using led.

Running HPs alongside the led is fine and something I have done just to bring up the heat rather than use a radiator.

25 degree throughout and 20degree in the dark

Can adjust the temp to whatever I want which was another selling point for me

Hps in summer I have to knock a light off or turn them down to 400w from 600w which is a headache
