Hey there,
I'm considering starting a late summer grow and would like any assistance on succeeding against high heat temps.
I understand high heat has major implications, but please work with me.
I was reviewing the extended weather forecast through September of 2022, and its forecasted to be a mild summer.
I grow in my Attic, temps are roughly 15 to 20 degrees warmer than outside temps and neutral in the winter.
Example: If it's 75F outside, my attic is mid 80's and when its 85F outside, It can get to 100F.
Given this bit of information I am thinking the following, start photo grow in July, keep RH in the 65 to 70% range and grow in 10 gallon pots to keep the roots cooler while in Veg. Use microbial root supplement like Great White, to manage stress and stay low PPM on overall nutrients.
I have no AC, this would max out my two 20 Amp breakers, so adding one is no Bueno. I did cut a hole so I can pull fresh air from the house to the attic tent, so AC air gets sucked into the tent. It's not great, but it helps a bit with temps. I have a large diy humidifyer that can achieve 60% humidity, combined with the heat, keeping RH at 65 to 70% should be doable to stay in an acceptable VPD range. Fans for air movement and my tent is enclosed in 2 inches of ridged foam, except the front door. The front door has two sleeping bags zipped together to cover the door. I have ac infinity 8" exhaust and 6" intake that is pulling the indoor AC air. So that's pretty much it.
I will be running a journal for this grow. I also ordered a few more sativa strains and will review which might be best for this type of climate.
Please comment.
Thanks!
