I think I might do the fog dog for this, and chem dawg for the mug challenge. Was gonna do a cindy jock for this since they seem to be a prolific grower, but am saving all my remaining CJ’s for 5 gallon or better

No problem... I can't recommend drinking the contents though!

I'm the same as Stokes, saving my Cindy Jocks for yield grows.

I've got 2 Auto Jack seeds. It's a good workhorse strain and what I grew with last years challenge. I'll start both seeds and if both sprout, I'll be tempted to do a side by side with a 2L Coca Cola bottle.

I've changed my mind. Assuming that both seeds sprout, I'll do one in a 5L pot of 50/50 p/v using the lucas formula. Will be similar to my first diary here except led instead of cmh.

Was out shopping today for a Pepsi bottle and related 'keep it upright' kit. No 2L Pepsi bottles in Home Bargain or anywhere else in the shopping center. Had to go to a corner shop tobacconist and all they had in 2L was Pepsi Max Cherry. I'm currently drinking vodka and water rather that use that as a mixer.

I've only just noticed the change of start date. Handy in one way, I've got extra time to finish the current lot if need be. I'll be away for 4 or 5 days early August. Will be having my own little competition of 'Will they survive 5 days of neglect?'

Farmer knows what's really important here; the stand to hold the bottle. Pointless DIY incoming as I've just finalized my design.

And just found what bean is worthy of the Pepsi Challenge: Orange Cookies from Taste Buds.
    S'gonna be a good time.

    Cheers all

What has me a little curious is:

    Hydro entrants are not permissible

<Pedant mode on> Anything that isn't soil is hydroponics. Because hydroponic means 'without soil'. Then again, any media is acceptable, so a non soil medium is ok. [Start never ending logic loop.]

A 2L Pepsi hempy bucket is acceptable as hempy buckets are done by hand. Bato buckets are an automated version of hempy buckets. With either, the runoff can be plumbed to disappear with zero user input so plumbing is not the issue. It's the use of water pumps for automatic feeding, or air pumps to aerate the roots as in dwc. iow, active hydro. Meaning that for the purpose of competition, passive hydro means 'Not hydro'. <pedant mode off>

    LOL

I checked the online Cambridge dictionary as anything with 'hydro' in it usually means water... & they say

relating to or grown using a method of growing plants in water to which special chemicals are added, rather than growing them in earth
Hempy's are most certainly allowed, but automated systems will not be allowed (and this will be included in the rules)

    Hey M_C,

Just curious and not to stir the sediment, but what's the call on bottom feeding? Like wicking water up from a res/container?

    Not automated but autonomous.

    Cheers
    B
