The chain was fine but you could see the strain on the ring at the top!

Like Vlad i also cheated and got plants this year. Buried them nice and deep. Last year i started from seed in my groom. May 10 was the suggested start date around here. My tomatoes are in the ground and almost done planting the rest of the vegetable garden.

up date on my toms
took a picture just before taking them out of the flower room
Two hours after putting them outside in direct full sun, the leave went vertical, praying, kind of stressed them out and again tonight, an hour after i moved them from the garden to the house.
3 plants have been left outside in a large pot and these plants are going to some friends in the morning.

Hello, I have 12 tomato plants in my garden this year - mostly cherry and medium sized tomatoes. In my experience, temperatures below 45 stunt the growth and tomato plants are just sitting in the soil, exposed to pests a and diseases. It is better to wait for warmer weather. Therefore I also wait with planting until June. Another alternative is to cover the plants with buckets overnight in order to avoid temperature drop during night. I found this tip here: and it works for me when a sudden temperature drop comes.
good luck with your tomatoes

I have been growing tomatoes plants for years in my garden and I agrea, if the temps fall below 6c, it stunts the growth, good luck with your plants, have you got any pictures.
The leds gave my plants a good start, the pot is a good 20" wide, so 3 plants would work well in this pot, the stems are very thick, so I have left a side shoot on each plant(so each plant has two tops), the canopy is 3ft wide and 3ft high so I am very happy so far.
