I agree with sourshoes, the good ones all work great. As well as price, consideration should be given to what level of after sales is likely should you need it. Some vendors have a good rep for standing behind their products and some have a shit rep.

I'm happy enough with my 2 x HLG 100 to not want to replace them. The full 190w was a little too much in early veg and 95w gave more stretch than my 315w cmh. The lack of dimmers can be countered by having the lights on a timer. For my next auto grow, they'll be on 20/4. If need be, I'll adjust the light schedule to have the internode distance a little better than I was getting with cmh.

I would want to go with the bigger light you can dim which will run more efficiently and last longer.

I know this, but I'm a big nerd for numbers and stats so digging deep into LEDs and making research about it is a lot of fun actually as it's something I never looked into before.

Thanks for the very good tip!

Migro Aray 2 Pro 120w = looks very decent, but no 3rd party testing has been done yet, only his own videos in which he measures his own light at almost 50% lower distance than other lights so of course it came on top, but it's not a fair measurement...[/QUOTE]

Was very wrong on this one. His lights are most efficient at much lower distance so therefore the measurements are correct.

    50 cm x 50cm x 130cm grow tent

Is that the largest and tallest you have room for? Or, using 150w hps, is it enough to keep you in bud so no need to go larger?

I'm quite sure it will be enough. I will first try 1 plant with topping & lst. If that will not be enough I will try sog, with almost no veg time = faster yield. I will keep a mother plant anyway, so making clones is not an issue.

Highly unlikely, but if even that won't be enough then I will upgrade to 100x50x160 tent and buy another light to daisy chain it.

I had real trouble finding lights for my area... got heights of 95cm and 100 cm for my flowering cupboards and 80cm for my vegging area. Ended up putting together lights with the help of a forum member who unfortunately isn't around at the moment.
Even with lst they often reach the lights. Thats in coco with 11 litre pots. Bit more manageable with 8 litre pots

Atreum Lightning Hydra-1000 100w = best specs out of all of them, currently unavailable due to supply shortage, but I can wait 1-2 months more

Mars hydro TS1000 150w = Probably an overkill for my small space, but can just run it on lower settings

You said you wanted the best

A detachable driver is pointless in my opinion, unless you live somewhere ridiculous hot 24/7. You'll want what little heat a modern LED (not that mars hydro ) will put out to help with the environment.

Look up "FrostyJack" on YouTube, he's always wanking over his Migro, every episode

Being able to detach drivers did me well over summer time last year. I'd imagine the more efficient your light, the less heat the driver makes...

Let's just say that the TS3000 was an excellent heater, lol. Since replacing that fixture, my temps run much cooler.

    Cheers
