Default How to test a light strip

I'm currently having issues putting together some lights. Getting no power and wondering how to test it using a multi meter. Is there supposed to be a way of lighting each diode or strip? all i can get it to do is beep at me when i touch each side of a bulb with the prongs... but don't know if that's good or bad. cant find any vids of the types of strips I'm using being tested

Mine don't beep but shows a number instead (The voltage)

I'm not overly familir with LED but, I would have thought that the driver has a poitive & negative lead - & across those leads it should show the voltage being delivered

Cheers dude... I can't get the lights to come on like his seems to. And as is beeps I guess that would indicate I've shorted all the strips. Hmmm... balls...

Cancel that... got the hang of it thanks to your videos. So the diodes light up in groups of 5 and I've managed to light them all 5 at a time using the multimeter.

My latest idea is that perhaps the plug connector i got isn't working. Its a long shot but ideas are at a crawl and I'm beginning to worry I'm never gonna figure this out

That's the trouble with things like this, you have to test as you go along to fault find

But now you know that the diodes & the driver work

Yeah, and the parts and wiring are an exact copy of my other lights so I think I can rule out compatability. I've redone all the wires at least once and tried new wagos. Used a working plug off my other lights so I can only think of the ip67 plug connecter being at fault on the driver side rather than the plug side
