Rhino Ventilation looks like a decent brand considering that this is their specialty. Is is just a small number of plants you're dealing with, or a whole gackle of em?

Side note, my friend ducts his scrubbed air through his ceiling and outside through the eve sofit. Neat little professional/discrete looking cover too, you would never know unless working next to it. Not sure if something like thats an option, but figured I would throw it out there.

There is a price difference for a reason I bet

Only dealing with 8 girls mate, my friend does what your friend does with his outtake pipe, sadly that’s not an option for me :-(

Only thing that I can think of is maybe the filter has sat on the shelf for a bit before you bought? Was it stored in high humidity between grows or anything like that?

Is your system Filter>Fan>Exhaust Duct or Filter>Interconnect duct>Fan>Exhaust Duct

It sounds like your saying that the end of the hose puts out the stank, despite where you exhaust to "hallway/room". Might be a good idea to try another filter, cause it's either that or your connections inside the tent on the suction side of the system before the fan. Your connections on the suction side all taped up? No holes in the duct? Just spitballing here..

Thanks for your continued help domo

    System is:

Filter > ducting > tent port/flap > drawstring pulled tight in > ducting to extractor fan > ducting > hallway

I can’t find any holes in the ducting at any point

The suction side is sealed with aluminium tape and a big old hose clip too

I reckon I will invest in a new filter next run and tape it up big time when I do

What does your humidity run it?

If it’s over 70% I think filters stop working (carbon gets damp).

Grab some one gel & put in it the duct or duct the outlet into a box of ona gel so the air gets cleaned & it’s easy to replace.

You shouldn’t have to resort to that though, you could try sealing up the front part of the filter (wrap clingfilm or something around it. Most air gets pulled through the front of them so diverting it to the back of the filter might give you some wiggle room.

If you’re venting into the hallway could you not fit a spigot in the loft hatch & duct it up there?

    Humidity runs about 55% mate

I could grab some Ona gel from my shop, they also sell a vent type thing that fits inside the ducting and you empty the gel into that as the air passes through .

As for the cling film how much of the front of the filter would you wrap mate? And I take it you mean wrap the tiny holes?

    Cheers man

Take the filter down and shake it. If you can hear the carbon granules moving around that's the problem
These filters need to be tightly packed without any granules moving around and if they do this allows air to pass through the filter without the air passing through the carbon and therefore it's useless
Or if humidity has been high it will also kill the filter
I'd definitely vent to the outside rather than into the house itself
A good way to disguise the smell is to be constantly smoking a j in the house
