    Default moving to coco

Going to do a plant in coco, felt pot.. growers ark nutes keep it simple.. here is the plan dan, get some coco, ecothrive is fav at this time, get some 22l felt pots, get me a bluelad truncheon.. got calmag lying around... pots filled and plants was happy but now need feeding.. I fill me bucket with 10L tap water, very soft area will leave a pic at the bottom of what shit comes out of my taps, then what? i cant see why i would want to truncheon the water before adding nutes.. so folk talk about "background" over my head and no idea what the fuck they are on about, they do though so that's all that counts but to newbies to coco like me might as well be talking fucking rocket science or worse, music theory ffs, so basically i am okay with with filling me bucket after that am proper fucked so anyone who can give me the heads up then I will be eternally grateful to them should the coco grow very well, and will hunt them down if it doest so messing, soon as i can get this ec shit sorted in my head am good to go.. will be indoor grow zkittlez under a 465w led.

the energy rise here and the continuation of stealing our tax monies has me wanting to give the leccy robbing fuckers much less than they would have gotten had i remained on 600w hps and if i can up my yield that too counts as a form of fighting back, we are being proper fucked here in the uk.

heres the pic of whats in me water,, calcium is not even worth the mention, just blank so next to nothing there, mg must be low? not sure on the other shit bar the ph..Click image for larger version.

bring the ec up to 0.4 with calmag, before you add nutes
Then if light in colour add more nutes if to dark lower nutes,

Do you want to get into the nuts and bolts of it or would you prefer to forget about ec and pH to concentrate on getting more yield by training the plants?

If the latter, use the lucas formula. No additives.* No pH or ec meters needed. No need to flush either.

2 choices of mix, they both work. Regular lucas formula is 8ml GH Micro and 16ml GH Bloom in 4 litres of tap water. *You may need Epsom salts with coco.

A lucas formula mix designed for coco is 6ml GH Micro and 9ml GH Bloom in 4 litres of tap water. *You may need calmag.

Feed them once a day from potting up until a day or 2 before harvest with a minimum of 10% runoff.

No need to hunt me down because if it doesn't work for you, it's because you went against the instructions.

This photo was in a 5L pot of coco under a 315w cmh:

I'm a complete novice and did my first grow in Coco.

At first it sounded complicated but if you can count in 2s you'll be grand. I started at 0 4ec from the tap and added canna Coco a+b until it was 0.6, saturated the pots with that then went up to 0.8 EC at week 2 (out of the ground) then increased in 0.2 increments weekly until 1.2 and then when they started really growing went to 1.5 and stayed there until harvest.

Now I've got the amounts written down I can forget about the EC pen and just go by ml/l from now on... Until I get any issues lol

It just so happened the pH was right without any messing around.

I've never heard of what farmer geddon posted but I'll definitely be looking at the that this morning! Cheers for the heads up

Im at my second coco grow now. And I love it. When I grow in soil I used 5gal pots. In coco i use 3 gal and the plants are bigger. I grow photos.

Water everyday from week 2 ish.
    PH 5.8-6.3
EC depends on plant age and size but a good start is ish 0.8.

If your tap water has a EC if 0.4 i would not add calmag and if a calsium or magnesium deficiency develop you can add 0.2or 0.3EC of it. If you get some epsomsalt you can spray the leaves once ever second week. 1ts /l and spray like a champ over and under the leaves. That should take care of the magnesium.

Good runoff is also important in coco as you want the rootzone to be clean and not filled with salts and stuff.

As a soil grower I'm might need to give this Lucas formula a second thought.

Coco might be another fun challenge for me down the road. Impressive results if done correctly.
