The longer they take to dry the better. 14 days is ideal, anything less is adequate.

Quicker drying can degrade quality/taste/strength to varying degrees.

Your climate will dictate how quick they dry, 45% humidity is a little low so they will dry a touch quicker but will be fine. Most people aim for 60f and 60% humidity.

Nothing to add that hasn't been said. Temp/humidity/bud density are the three major factors that will determine dry time.

That said, nice nugs auto! Sending good dry/cure juju your way!

I think it’s a couple of times a day for the first few days m8, I’ll have to look it up again for me drying mine soon as well, but with u putting the humidity packs in I’m not sure, it’s been a long time since I’ve tried it with them, I’m sure a lot of people add them near the end of the curing though, one of the other peeps that has got it right will be along soon bud

They will feel lighter as they lose water content.

ime, >RH65% is better for drying than <RH60%. They will dry down to RH62% even at RH80% although it can take a while. However, they won't go lower than RH62%. With low humidity, they can go lower than RH62% which degrades quality.

Ideal dry time is 10 to 16 days. I wet trimmed my cellar crops and they took ~14 to 16 days before being ready to burp. Hanging the plant whole slows down the drying. Needed when humidity is lower than you'd like. Having them in brown paper bags also slows down the moisture loss.

The objective is to end up with buds that have the correct moisture content for making a spliff/joint or putting in a bong. Which is also the correct moisture content for long term storage in jars. At some point, most of the bud will feel dry enough on the outside to make a spliff with. The inside of the bud will be too damp though. Hence the burping. After 24 hours in a (half full) closed jar, bud that felt dry enough is now a bit sweaty. Too damp to smoke. The jar stays open for 24 hours and they seem dry enough once more. Another day in a closed jar and they're sweaty again. Repeat until they're not sweaty after 24 hours of being in a closed jar. Leave the jar closed for a few days and check again. If all seems well, all they need now is time to complete the curing process.
