How much stretch will I get?

Hi again all,

I'm on my second grow with a single Ghost Train Haze and a single Bubba Kush. One is sativa dominant & the other is Indica dom. I'm about to flick from 17/7 (don't ask) and go to 12/12 to start get flowering. It's indoors in a shed, in soil (quality potting mix) with a locally made, quality 400w LED array. (The maker is a specialist and custom makes his own LED boards to order, mostly for professionals of all gardening persuasions)

Question - how much height will my plants gain when I switch to 12/12 flower? 50%? 100%? 200%?

The first grow I did ended up "S T R E T C H I N G for thousands of metres high" cos as soon as I flowered the weather temps went as high a 38C outside and stayed that way for weeks. It went "foxtail beserkuss" in an attempt to cool down! It hit 45C in the grow cabinet. However, it's our winter now and external temps are down to 10C min and 20C max (approx). Its a pleasant 25C in the cabinet.

Stretching can be difficult to predict. Stretching is both genetic and affected by environmental factors.
I am currently growing a GDP and a Green Crack Punch and a KISS in the same room.
The GDP doubled in size. The KISS only about 30% stretch. The Green crack punch more than trippled forcing me to bend down all the branches.

The sativa is going to triple in size, and the Indica is going to double more than likely. Rule of thumb. The more Sativa will stretch more, and the more Indica will stretch less. JMO

You have some great advice from CityDweller and George, in general most plants that have been topped a few times will grow 18"- 3ft high(not including the pots)
if you flower a small plant off, (6")it can grow 4 times the size and a 12" plant might grow 2-3 time the size but in general this also depends on the strain, environment and your skill set as a grower.
in time, you will gain the skills to keep your canopy level and have more control over the stretch, for example you can do a scrog or pull the canopy down in flower,
