I don't understand all the hate for FFOF. I have been using it for about 15 years and have not
had a single seedling burn from it being to hot. To the folks claiming this, could you tell us a time
    when this happened to you?

    Thanks

Nope. Not personally. Just issue the warning as I've heard multiple reports. I've never pooped a bean in the stuff. I prefer to transplant into soil after they are started in seedling mix.

    Cheers

Was going to edit 'pooped' to 'popped' but it made me chuckle so it stays in case it helps someone else find a smile.

This is what I mean, people saying things with no experience with it. All over the forum people say they want real knowledge
and not bro science but are quick to repeat what they hear. Back in the 70's all the way to 2010 all I heard was you can't grow
in Miracle Grow but there are quite a few on this forum alone that grow great in it. I stayed away from it because of all the naysayers.
Wish the internet would of been around back then so I could of seen folks use it.

Appreciate the honesty Barney. That is why I did not give an opinion on Happy Frog to the op. I've never used it before.

Pros: 25% perlite is 25% extra aeration and water retention and drainage

Cons: 25% perlite is 25% less available super soil (food). Perlite dust aint great for ya lungs, wear a mask and mix it outdoors if you can

NO SELL, NO SMELL, NO TELL!!!

Are you back to using perlite in your soil Mac? You have peaked my curiosity.

I have never used Happy Frog Potting compost but its a "nutrient-rich" compost meaning hot soil mix, doesn't sound ideal for clones or seedling that need a cool soil mix. Often growers give the plants some extra food in early veg and things go wrong.

    V8,

You have been a big, big help, and Yes, I have more questions. What do you do with your seeds that don't sprout? Plant them anyway?

Once the little darlings are in the soil, how much light should I give them starting off?
