I use iso when making oil as all or most of the alcohol gets evaporated. If its a tincture I use spirytus vodka as its the strongest I've found here.

PM coming. I wasn't aware that the ISO came in 100%, but found A company that has it here in the States.

The European equivalent of Everclear is known as Polish Vodka. 96% abv. Not all vodka from Poland is 96% abv so check before buying.

Personally, I prefer something food grade for smoking or ingesting. ISO is not safe to ingest. This is a common polish 95% vodka. Click image for larger version.

Why don't you want Everclear? That is the only 200 proof alcohol that I know of all the vodka is 180 proof They use to make A wood grain 200 proof years ago but haven't made any in some time that I am aware of.

You can make 200 proof alcohol. Make your own steel. Use Sugar beets, an old farmer told me once that was the best way to make high grade alcohol. You can read up on how to make A steel on google and make your own. lol

Making a pot still is easy enough. You won't get much more than 70% abv from it though.

To get 95% abv, you need a reflux still and they are not so easy to make. Part of the build involves winding a long coil of copper microbore to fit inside a 3" tube. Without kinks. Much annealing and re-annealing. I tried and failed miserably. After spending close to £200 on bits, I gave up and bought a Still Spirits T-500 and have always had good product from it.

It's running at the moment. Has been on since 11.30 this morning. I do it easy mode. (What a surprise.) 6kg of white sugar and a pack of Vodka Star yeast in 25L of water, give it plenty of time to ferment out. Running that through the still gives me 3L of 94% abv which I usually dilute down to 10.5L of 37.5% abv vodka.

Here's what a well made coil looks like. Go for diy if you reckon you could do as good a job. I sure couldn't.

I bought a Still and never even tried it. The 95% everclear is available 3 blocks away.
