You can collect the pollen in a vial along with a desecant (sp) and stick it in the fridge till your female is prime. then just brush it on the flowers that you want to pollinate. If you do lower branches with fans off you can kind of control where it goes.

Question : are you covering the specific pollenated "branch" so the remaining plant still produces seed free buds?

Its quite literally not turning a female to a male. Its just a woman doing a mans work. Not a good look getting snippy with one of the nicest posters on the site.

    Cheers

Using CS causes the small section of plant you used it on to grow balls. That is a hermaphrodite. Like George said, you are using the pollen from the hermaphrodite balls to pollinate parts of the female plant. Definitely not turning a female plant into a male plant.

This is a late question - What traits are important to look for in male plants when determining which male to use to make pollen? Size and health or are there other characteristics that stand out when choosing a "stud"?? I've read some males produce smells (from their leaves) that indicate strength or potency.

same as with females when you think about it
good structure, strong terpenes are important and lots of flowers if you have a few to select from,

or just keep all the pollen and do an open pollination, sometimes its the plants you don't expect that give you that surprise
