    Default Heirloom strains

I found a seed bank that labels a few strains as "heirloom". Most are sativas. I was considering making a purchase.

My question is do heirloom strains really exist in today's commercial world?

Anyone have experience in heirloom strains?

Sounds like snake oil to me.
    Dictionary definition of Heirloom.
denoting a traditional variety of plant or breed of animal which is not associated with large-scale commercial agriculture.
Technically this can apply to most if not all seeds.

    That's what I thought.

There are a few websites selling "landrace" seeds, those are "heirloom". I think anybody selling "heirloom" is probably some virtue signaling latecomer trying to differentiate themselves from others and make money. Search landrace and yes they'll be mostly sativa from Africa or Asia.

Good info! I might inquire further into the seed bank as to the nature of their seeds. I know they only sell regular seeds, but provide little information on growing their strains other than india/sativa percentages and flowering time.
