I love looking out my window and seeing her garden full of weed, I have no problem with it, I am worried about the cops/dogs turing up and checking my shed out at the same time.

I will never grass on someone else growing weed, if you leave them alone, they will leave you alone.

Normally I would agree, but any risk to my own security and they can fuck right off

Hate to say but that would make me mega paranoid.

Only takes a cop copter to fly over and they will see it and they will investigate. Just getting her to cover it with some opaque plastic sheeting would be enough to stop that from happening then you're just playing roulette with the smell triggering someone to report it.

Guess that will depend a lot on the area and the people. Where I live is FULL of people who are incredibly nosy and VERY quick to phone up everyone (when I had scaffolding up the scaffolders told me they'd had 4 or 5 calls from locals within 24h bitching about the scaffolding even though none had contacted me about it). I couldn't risk any smell or visibility at all here.

I'd go with, as some others have suggested, a polite note through the door (or if you know them well enough or want to get to know them knock on the door) and have a chat. That way you can gauge their reaction. Some people just DGAF about the law or getting caught which puts you at massive risk. Others are too stupid to realise what they're doing isn't legal or the risks they run.

Also one downside to reporting them is the police will forever keep an closer eye on them, possibly with occasional raids, which increases your risks. Much better to try and help them stay safe than drop them in it. Other side of that is how would you feel if they were dropping you in it? We're all slaves to the ridiculous petty laws around cannabis so rather than helping the corrupt government and police with their job better to try and help them evade detection and prosecution. We're all in this together as the saying goes...

A couple years from now and nobody will report anything, by then we will be in a black market economy and the governments will try to tax their way to prosperity. That's what I liked about the 70's, everybody just ignored the government. Anyway to avoid paying a tax and everybody did it.

Looking at the angle of the metal container, it does block the view from next door, weeds kind of hidden but some people can see it, everyone smokes weed where I live, tbh I don't need to use a filter both side smoke it heavy.

Even if the weed is reported, would the police come out for less than 10 plants ?
Would they send police and the dogs out.
Is it worth there time and effort, you have to base it on what I know(8 small plants in her garden)

I understand and sympathize with the first response paranoia. But I agree that it is just that. What are the chances they bring dogs when everything is out in the open? Even if she hits the 1% lottery and gets raided my guess is the raid would be contained to the property with cops so happy with what is in front of them and not wanting to add more paperwork by being nosy to the neighbors.... but this is my perspective from my experience with US police. No idea if anything is different on your side of the pond.

If you don't know each other, I think it would be better if you keep it that way. I myself wouldn't be knocking on someone door to tell them their weed is showing, I'm sure they know that.
