Default Trellising, My Need to Do It!

Okay so 2 months ago I took a loss during my first attempt at trellising. I had 2 plants out of Cali Connection. The 2 girls were 818 Headband and their 78. Everything was going well; I was a bit upset with myself over only filling 85 out of 100 squares. Flipped too early taking advise from an online growmie. I was happy to the fact that I kept the plants short and with an even canopy. The plants stood 12 inches from the top of the pot to the top of the buds. Hell, I didn't need tall plants just the buds. Anyhow the end of week 3, the lights come on one morning. As I'm looking over the girls like i do every morning. I notice some color to some stigmas, immediately I'm like MOTHERPHUCKER!!! I already knew without needing conformation of pollination.

Sour enough as I am looking over the 78, nothing noticeable on top. So, I have a look under the netting, sure thing I see nanners, some were open. Of course, I knew that would be the case soon as I laid eyes on them. I knew I had been pollinated somewhere. I looked over the 818 she didn't have any nanners. I had 2 oscillating fans blowing over the plants 24/7 and a mini turbo blowing air along the bottom of the plants. So, EVERYTHING HAD TO GO. I took a clone off the 818 from along the bottom. At the time I had just harvested 2 plants. Of my cross. One girl just ended up expressing me during her end, that I took 3 flowering clones from her before harvest.

The pictures included are my first attempt at trellising. Nanner shot from the 78. Pictures of my cross I call her Marcella. Also, there are pictures of my current run. This journal will get an update every Friday. Also, I decided to just run Marcellas under the netting this time. I am just training the 818 clone for multiple tops. When the time comes, I will just flower her out. I need to make sure she doesn't hermie on me. Keeping in mind she is from the same breeder as the 78. If she makes it through flowering okay, I will monster crop her.

BTW All plants started in Pro-mix, all up potted into Ocean Forest. This is my first time ever running girls in soil. They have been in the Ocean Forest for 15 days as of today. The plan is to veg them out until they need food. Then I will feed them pH Prefect Connoisseur Veg and the Bloom when the time comes. There will always be my go-to additives for both stages. There are 2 girls from seed also.

Thanks Bethmeg! And yes, it stings the soul a little bit lol. Nothing I could do at that point, pull em or have seeded smoke. I should have been looking under the plants the whole time. Once i was advised to stop defoliating in week 2 of flower. I stopped going under the net.

But day 21 is such a good time to hit it hard with a good defoliation! Not sure I'd agree with this advice.

Regardless, I've just smoked a bit in your honor. That was a hard post to read. Condolences, brother.

Yeah I have always defoliated almost through the plants like. Removing any fans of leaves blocking bud sites. But this advise I was given I figured phuck it. If I wuold of kept defoliating, I would of seen the sacks in time to pull the plant. That's here nore there ,and thanks for taking the time to view the log.
