I can and have bleached plants using cheap Chinese led boards when they came out many years ago. They had enough light to bleach but the spectrum and penetration made for fluffy weed that was not very strong.

HPS and CMH where good lights a few years ago but a single bulb with a hood is not going to give you a good light spread, some hood where better than others,
Plants in flower need a 3000k light Spectrum, I think that pretty standard for most LED's, the few extra dials (UV and far red), do they really make a difference?

When I started growing I used to bleach my plants with HPS and the environment was crap, hot/low humidity, low airflow and I didn't train the plants very well, over time I improved, maybe going from CMH to LEDs cause some of the problems, not saying the first lot of LEDs where good, but over time you would improve, the leds on the market today are really good and I don't see how they can get any better.
Its just like phones, they stopped advancing something like 6 years ago, the improvements are not worth the investment, 6 years ago the phone had very high quality screens and cameras, today there slightly thinner and you get more storage.

I must disagree mate. I recently broke my phone screen and had to send it for repair. I have a backup phone because I must always be available for work. The backup phone was overheating constantly and not doing well with multiple applications running at once. Finally got my regular phone back (Samsung took 30 days on a 14 day guarantee lol).
Even the typing speed is noticeably different. I am typing to you while watching family guy in a tiny screen while working on a work document and my typing is still fast and phone is not hot.
Processor speed matters if using multiple processes. Yes, the technology is the same but the upgraded version works better. At least for phones... lights? I have no idea. Possibly all snake oil but I'll still buy it and hope it makes better weed.

Wow, love the comments from everyone.
Snake oil is what we see & hear daily. When I read reviews for products similar can be said there as well.
Review Comments are pretty suspect when the details are vague or 4 star yet they haven't purchase yet.
I used my Samsung S22 with a PPFD app, and I get ok reading for the SF2000, & SG4000, but there are limits with older leds and they become old, but they still produce a quality harvest.
Cheers!

I have a lux meter and used the lux app on my phone, the reading are not even similar, and from the reviews it's a roll of the dice.
The second question is now much light does your plant need?
Too much light causes more problems than not enough light, just like watering and feeding the plant(less is more based on most grow charts).
Migro and lots of Led manufacturers talk about hitting 1000 par, I think 500 -700 is the sweet spot(most indica plants).
Guess some sativa strains need something closer to 800 par.
At 18" my home made leds give my plants just over 30,000 lux(3000k) and this looks equal to 5500 par, love the results so far.
