Do these UPS things need a PC or Laptop to be able to use them, for software updates etc, or are they plug and play so to speak?

Plugg and play. On/off. Power goes out it Swappes to batteri 7ms later. Power back on it charges the batteri.

    Cheers V8.
I've never really had any power issues. But what with the way things are at the moment, and only going to get worse, there may be a real possibility of power cuts so have been considering getting one.

Still think it's huge overkill for 6h right at the end of a grow but I am a self confessed novice so I will bow to far more experienced growers than me.

You’re probably right MJ, but i think theyre a good idea to have in a grow tent, as im sure we have all experience power outtages. Theyre never convenient

Sounds like it's only a couple of days difference from when you chop them anyway.... I would just chop at the last possible moment & save the cash on keeping the fans going

Agree...However I'd be more concerned about the smell escaping...I remember when I had a power outage once, you smell it in the street..That was a sphincter clenching moment I'd rather not repeat....If your in a isolated area or the strain is not so pungent then nowt to worry about..

Plants look like they need another week at least. Maybe even 2 weeks. I'd get a battery to keep fans running. They are a useful gadget to have and you were ready to spend 400 on a generator.
Not worth risking the smell. Even if you decide to chop you will want a scrubber running while drying. If my fans go off I can smell my grow from down the block.

Actually if you can make the tent air tight then the smell will be minimised but I wouldn't leave them sweating under those conditions for too long dead or alive....I can't see a few hours causing any issues..
