Default How do yous know when you’ve overdried your bud

It’s no secret on here I’m shit at growing well autos anyway lol but the worst part of it is the bud I get at the end of the grow which 99% of the time looks like shit and tastes like shit as there’s no taste and it hardly gets me high and another thing I’ve noticed it makes my mouth dry as fuck and always makes it taste like shit but that could be because I put more in a spliff to get a better taste or high lol, anyway I think I may be overdrying it every grow as surely by now I would have had bud rot at some time u know with how shit I am at growing lol, does that make sense I have dried it in my growdrobe over 3-5 days in the past and 7-8 days and it’s still crap, I have dried it in the herbdryer rack thing a couple of times now for 3-5 days last time I think, I have tried it with and without boveda packs and I’ve left it curing for weeks at times, the only time I’ve tasted and liked it is on a couple when they’ve been tiny plants that were stunted I think they were blue dreams and they smelt pukka and were sticky, because I have a lot of problems growing them and they end up with deficiencies most of the time I’ve thought could it be that in the past but surely that couldn’t take all of the taste could it, and the smell is always shit after, it never smells like bud and this time it looks a fucking show, I have tried wet and dry trimming multiple times as well, don’t suppose yous have got any pics of overdried buds I could try to compare with it as well, another thing it could be drying fast is because most of the buds aren’t dense as well that’s another thing I need to fix, I hate having to pay for bud but I would rather smoke a nice tasting and smelling bud than my own shit
    Cheers peeps

I use cheap hydrometers off of Amazon, they are not very accurate but the get me close. Once I'm somewhere around 50-60% humidity I like to go ahead an jar up my buds and start burping, after about a week I like to add Boveda 62% humidity packs to help level things out. This is what I have done eoth my last few harvest and I have been relatively happy so far, even the buds that dried in five days before being jarred have a nice taste and smell.

I know the bud is over dried when it burns extremely quickly in my bowl and taste a little harsh, if you have totally overdried your bud soak a peice of a terracotta pot in water for an hour then add it to your bud jar, it will reintroduce humidity very quickly.

Scorpion, you're not shit at growing or autos..just because you might not have found your balance with them yet, doesn't mean you're shit, you're trying and you haven't given up and that's what matters.

How would you feel about trying another grow with a mentor again?, nothing to say you can't..I know there are a few mentors really looking forward to mentoring a member (V8 comes to mind)

Totally your choice of course, but the option is always there bud

I know how you feel man, and the energy costs going up make it even harder when it doesn't work out.
I would like too see you do a mentored grow, hopefully you'll get some decent end product and a boost in confidence as well.

And maybe another swanky gold cap.

cheers m8 i started growing a photoperiod thinking i might have done better on it and it was going sweet but i didn't train her and she got to tall so i chopped her down alot and now looking at her she won't handle the weight of any buds lol, need to sort her out before doing anything but like a fuckin idiot i threw a diesel cross auto in last week and now the bastards stretching because i've had to take the light right up and turn the power right down for the photoperiod, then i'm thinking why don't i put the photo in another drobe or something with my old mars and keep her in veg and try to take some clones, growing weed has gone from a bastard hobby to an obsession lol
