How hard can it be? I mean it is a weed.

Joking aside I think aquaponics is a little different from hydroponics as I don’t have to really worry about nutrients as long as I can keep the fish at the proper stock. As well as letting the fish start the cycle before I start with the plants. It’s part of the reason I’m getting the tank and fish first so they have a chance to dirty it up while I order the filter media.

Hoping the bait shop has plenty of minnows though and they don’t try to price gouge.

To be honest idk how hard hydro/aqua is. I have never tryed it myself. All I know i started in soil and the learning curve was steap but I got it down. Then I moved to coco. If I started in coco i would have fucked up so hard. So knoting that made my say its ballsy to start with a setup with that scale

But if you get it right you will have some kickasssss setup! I can strongly suggest ypu to make a thread in tje hydro section here at thctalk.

Who knows, maybe you have super green growing fingers

I have wanted to try this for a couple of years, but my old lady won't let me while we are renting, flooded the basement just once and she wont let me live it down.

I think it may be very hard to get dialed in since i have to take into account surface of the grow media, filter media, how many fish, and etc. But I think once it all gets dialed in that it will hopefully be a very hands off approach. I have also chose minnows as my fish of choice since they breed rapidly once there population grows ill be able to sell them to the local fisherman. My community is almost built around drinking beer, fishing, and hunting.

I will definitely take your advice and take pictures of every step explaining the what, and why I chose the route I have.

Mine was the same. I just got done purchasing my house. I did not flood our last basement though. Our landlord had problems with the last tenet so part of the lease was monthly inspections. With the legality of it where I am at it just 100% risk with 0 reward.
