My wife and I are 72 yrs old….after smoking weed in our youth (me vietnam)….recently returned….having a blast and learning.
I have question about home made edibles. I know about decarboxalating and making canna butter. But considering making from concentrates. Getting major brain cramps figuring out strength.
And how it compares with Chocolate bars….they each have 100 mg of thc…4 for a hunnert bucks. (In MA)
2 grams of concentrate for $10 bucks more….
So will concentrate edibles be more bang for the buck?

Welcome to the forum brother if the concentrates you're getting our RSO done with an ethanol extraction they'll probably be about 70% cannabinoids or 700 mg per gram. If you're getting CO2 or some type of further refined it could go up to probably about a thousand milligrams per gram. I've seen this clear extract they do around here that I think is pure THC.

So if you want to use the RSO you need to mix it with something like oil or butter and if it's 70% then seven edibles would be 100 mg per piece. Most people I think would find 50 mg to be more than enough.

"Concentrates" in cartridge form are potent. I recently purchased a 0.5 gram Cartidge.
At 86% THC that yields. 430 milligrams. 5 milligrams is considered one dose and packaged as such in cannabis retail dispensaries.
Senior citizens usually get discounts so keep that in mind.

Alright mate, when I made edibles with rosin I decarbed and let it cool and set again (oven at 115-120c for about 20-30 mins, it's done when the bubbles are small not big), melt 1 g with 120g of butter which made me enough canna butter to make 8 fairy cakes/small cupcakes, 4 would destroy me and I've got a pretty high tolerance. It's a lot easier than using leaf.

@GEORGE makes his own caps by just decarbing it,im sure he'll share with you,and i thibk its an easier way to do than edibles

Pretty much the same as MrC, but instead of making butter, just rub out 5 to 7 grams over 150-micron stainless steel screen, then cap up in no 3 or 4 caps. 100mg is usually plenty enough but have taken 120mg before and didn't come down for A whole 24 hours, so I would test it first 50mg to start with and increase 25mg each time until you find the right amount. I have learned that it works much better if you keep it seal up in a seal type glass container in the frig, but it does lose some of its strength after A month or so. This is for one oz of buds declared like MrC has said. Good luck and happy growing.
