    Finding out prices for wood tomorrow my brother works for the timber yard so should get a good price but in the UK timber is so much more then it use to

    It's high here everywhere. I remember when I use to buy 2x4x8 for 50 cents, today they over 4 bucks A board.

    We have something call Press Board, something similar, I think.

    You can buy mdf in the states. You can not use it for structural support though.

    It's mostly used for furniture and such.

    We have different grades of MDF in different price ranges. If using MDF I would look for the best grade possible and then waterproof it if using around moisture.

    Good advice, I wouldn't use MDF without something to protect it in high humidity areas
