    I leave it in water till I see a short 5mm tap root. Then it and the water go into the coco

    I'm glad you mentioned the taproot, and kinda surprised no one else has. Again, I'm abnoobie, but I thought you looked for a taproot when soaking vs. 24 hours, and then in the medium.

    I do soak my seeds in water, but I don't wait for them to show a taproot..they get put straight into the medium the moment they sink to the bottom of the glass of water they are in, or after 24 hours, whichever comes sooner.

    IC why wouldn't you wait til it sinks, even if it takes longer than 24?

    The reason is because my focus is to soften the shells and 'wake the seeds' to make it an easier germination once in the medium, and in my experience that doesn't take longer than 24 hours, but if they sink earlier, then they're already ready and can come straight out.

    I’m a germinate kinda guy never tried straight into soil. I soak for 24hrs into tissue for 24-48hrs then pot it up
