Two one pint solo cups, about 6-8 pints a plant.

    I did warn you...

For coco you're going to need some more precise way of measuring your feed. You must get 20% runoff give or take. If you do more you're wasting nutrients which for 10 plants the cost will mount up fast. The more runoff you have the more you're going to have to get rid of. You can't leave the plants sitting in runoff. If you do less than 20% you're going to risk salt build up and your plants are going to suffer and worst case die.

The other issue is feed takes time to filter through the pots so unless you have a fairly good idea how much you're feeding you're going to have a hell of a job keeping track and it's going to take you hours.

Lastly you'll probably be wanting to measure runoff EC. Some people (usually experienced) can get away without but even after my third grow I wouldn't be confident enough to go without ever measuring the runoff EC. You'll then need to track what that In<>Out is for each plant and make sure next days feed is right. Which brings in more complication. Your plant nute requirements may shift from plant to plant even with the same strain. You can't let it drift too much in coco or it will get over/underfed very quickly. Then you're into multiple feeds at different strengths. If you're growing more than one strain then God help you - even the more experienced growers on here can have significant problems with differing requirements with just four plants.

Bottom line is I can't see any of those being suitable. Yes they'll get the feed to the plant. Yes they'll allow you to fertigate but fertigating coco is so much more than just throwing some water at the pot and hoping. You need to balance almost daily and if you're not measuring you'll need to watch the plants like a hawk for changes.

Other more experienced people here may have better ideas but with 10 plants in coco hand watering is going to be very very painful. It's more than I'd take on even if I had the 2-3h a days it's going to take to do it.

Oh and 1ltr for a 3.8l pot feels like an awful lot of feed. How much runoff are you getting?

Even when seedlings or young plants?

I'm about 3-3.5l in 12l pots now in late veg and into flower so roughly 1/4 but in seedling/early veg I'll be no where near that. Maybe I underwater but I still get 20% at that point.

When I was doing Coco I would mainly start in 5 gallon pots. I would always make sure the Coco was thoroughly wet and then I'd put a plastic cup, a clear plastic cup, over the seed.

Then I would fill up the top of the pot with 2 in of clay pebbles. That would keep out the thrips and stuff like that. It would also kind of keep the Coco moist will that seedling was developing.

Everyday after it sprouted I would raise the cup up a little bit and allow more pebbles to roll underneath around the seedling. By about the 4th or fifth day the cup would be off completely.

I would hand water maybe once in four or five days starting off and then rapidly get to every other day and then every day.

Ahhhh cool I like the pebbles idea. I've not had an insect issue (yet!) so I'm just a raw coco/perlite 60/40 mix to the top of the pot.

    Makes sense, thanks for explaining.

Measuring jug & a watering can with a rose. Case closed.

Or get a watering wand, pump & reservoir & count how many seconds it takes to deliver 1 litre (say 10 seconds per litre)

    30 seconds = 3L
