Lightbulb Led Light question? Or stick to cfl/hps?

I have grown before with CFL and HPS years ago, but was wondering about LED, I've read loads on here and my brains died

Would these be OK for a small tent with 3 plants? OR should I stick to Cfl/hps? Thanks!

LEDs are great at saving electricity but they make very little heat.

    What are your tent dimensions?

that's my only problem with leds the lack of ambient heat, i run my hps through the night so i can keep good temperatures,
cold soil and low temps just slow the entire thing down

    i can keep 21/28c through night/day cycle,

Good LED has better wavelength than HPS and almost as good penetration. Good LED has much better wavelength and penetration than CFL. The main issue I have with LED is that it is easy to give too much light which damages the plants. With HPS its most often the heat causing damage and not the light intensity. I grow in a hot loft and need AC to keep them alive. So the heat reduction from LED is a big plus for me.

Just be careful when choosing an led light that you do some proper research on the actual wattage, par output etc..

Those led you have shown for example are not 600w and 1000w for example

The fecida claims to be equivalent to a 600w HPs yet it draws only 65w of power.
That’s impossible and a huge exaggeration from the company. It will work fine for vegging but is not comparable to a 600w HPS in any shape or form.
It’s also costs under £55 which is another giveaway.

If you have been using a 600w HPS an equivalent led will cost a considerable amount of money.
I’d stick with the cfl and hps than use those above.

I agree. Having the right quality is crucial. I went from 1500 Watts draw CMH to 900 watts draw LED.

    I have an 80x80 tent. I have it under a TS1000 that has +/- 150 watts and it's plenty.

If I were a bit richer, I'd go bigger and dim it down for a better spread with something like this: (this is one of our sponsors)

    Else something similar.

Some folks put 100w LEDs in tents this size but that's not enough juice for my liking. Just look at most 100w PAR charts.

Some sort of bar light between 150-300w would, in my lone opinion, be ideal for that size tent which I'm so fond of.

Good call. Why spend money if you got something that works. HPS grows great weed.
