Default Unanswered: New supplier of girls not sure look right?

    Afternoon all

Just been to help my cousin set up his next run potting up and used a new supplier for his girls

They are clones/cuttings but they don’t look like the stuff we used to get elsewhere

Excuse the drooping they will perk up later as they only just gone in and had a drink

Normally they are a few inches tall but never ever seen leaves like this and so large etc

Strain is called Wedding Cake but now he’s panicking thinking they look like something you get when you’ve topped your plants lol and worrying he’s been given them

    Appreciate any input

    Cheers

Hmm interesting, never dealt with clones or even researched them much just due to availability though.
Curious to know what the other clones looked like?

Nice little girls! Wedding Cake is an indica dominant hybrid so large leaves are to be expected. The look tiny from here.

Clones will look like the branch that was cloned. I have been treating my mothers like bushes and just shaving the tops. If I ever take clones they will look very strange. But you can snip and train as needed to create the desired canopy regardless of what you start with.

This is Green Crack Punch. A sativa dominant hybrid that smokes like a sativa but grows massive indica leaves. Click image for larger version.

I would cut those big fan leaves off. Also I would only leave the top set of leaves on. They will root much faster. JMO

I didn't realize they were already rooted. Thanks for the heads up.

Its just the way they have been taken from the mother plant and not trimmed prior to being rooted..

I like to trim and prep mine so the cuttings don't have too much leaf surface area, this helps slow respiration and prevent them drying out too fast whilst they are rooting... See Link > Here

I wouldn't top them just yet, give them a chance to put some roots down before you go stressing them..

Also I'd give the medium a good drench, this will encourage the roots to spread out and occupy the entire volume of the pots.

    Regards BL
