Default Best Medium to use from Start to Finish?

I was going to buy BioBizz AllMix but was advised to use Light Mix instead. I've recently read Light Mix is only good for seedlings and also BioBizz in general can cause problems.

Any advice would be great. I'm just waiting to order. Would of be better using coco coir and adjusting Ph?

Edit: I'm growing auto, so don't want to transfer.

I'm not sure what the absolute best medium that exists is, but when it comes to dirt, I like to use Fox Farm Ocean Forest, and when it comes to coco coir I Like using the Canna bricks.
I live in the US so I'm sure your choices will vary greatly, like I keep reading about the guys overseas buying canna coco professional plus for coco, and John Innes #3 for dirt.
I'm pretty sure there is a thread floating around somewhere called the Bio-Biss curse, so it might be something to be weary of.
I hope you find the best medium for you.

i've used all mix from start to finish as long as you don't over water it'll be fine,
i have also used light-mix for the first 3-4 weeks can't say i noticed much of a difference

but its a premier soil that now costs £19.50 when i started buying it, it was only £11

Cheers, man. Appreciate that. I think I'll look for John Innes. I still have BioBizz nutrients, I guess I'll be looking for more of those too lol.

Out of interest, how much water do you use per feed? I was using 3l, maybe that's too much?

Hi Effexion, are you planning on an organic grow and if so, are you going to be using bottled organic nutes eg bio bizz grow / bloom or are you going with organic amendments eg ecothrive charge or life cycle? Or even gonna try water only?

I think the bio buzz curse is more a problem of using their bottled nutrients.

Yes, I have nutrients left over from my last grow. I'm kind of put off using them now.

I honestly don't think there is a 'best' medium for everyone Effexion, rather what's best for each indvidual grower, their enviroment and circumstances.

For example, I enjoy the control coco gives me, and in my own experience the yields are higher. The down side for me personally is the amount of water I'm shifting each day, both to feed the ladies and to dispose of, however what I see as a negative others might not.

I enjoy soil too, there's something quite enjoyable about growing in dirt, knowing how to balance the watering habits with your environment is something you need to learn as you go, and is contrast to using coco where watering is much more simple in terms of not having to worry about overwatering, you simply water every day till run off (perhaps not in the seedling stages). A major downside to soil is the increased chances of pests, from those already in the bag and the ones that get attracted by it naturally.

My advise would be to try all methods, and see which suits you best.

Same really, I have uses both light mix and all mix and not noticed much difference. If I was starting seedlings or clones, I'd be inclined to go with light mix for safety in the basis I might need to feed a bit sooner.

Personally, I think the key to getting the best out of both products is to add beneficial bacteria / fungi, I find with these added, i can go for a couple of months with maybe just the odd light top dress of something like insect frass or alfalfa meal. Especially if potting up into fresh medium a couple of times along the way.
