Default Need opinions on this cheap RO water system

Decided to get an RO system for my mentored coco adventure. For shits and gigs i did a coco trial run with dehumidifier water and the plants seem very happy, so much easier to regulate ec and feed etc. cheers to beth for even considering taking me on with well water, i knew RO water was important but had no idea how awful my water was for plants until i realized my waters ec/ppm was so high

So here is what i am looking at; am open to other suggestions but would like to keep the first one under $300.

Don’t know anything about RO machines.
I think the output would be the most important to look for, like how fast can it make 10 litres etc.
If 90 gpd means gallons per day, then it’ll be plenty I reckon

Your other ladies you have grown fine with well water. Is it really that bad ?
I work with 0.5 EC water.I suppose it all depends what that EC is made up of eh ?

I read coco for cannabis while i was out of town and when compared to his tables my numbers seemed very high. I figured soil just naturally handles high EC better. Now i cant remember what my exact numbers were. Im gonna go read back through. Off the top of my head it just didnt leave much room for food

    Interesting.
Just taken a look.I shall have a read through it all as I’ve only grown in coco/clay mix myself.
Think I did a coco grow once hand feeding long time ago.
    Thanks for that dear.

But regarding your comment about leaving room for food.
If say you wanted a target EC of 1.2 and your water was 0.6 then you feed at an EC of 1.8.
Always add the EC of the water don’t take it away or you will run into problems.

But I’ll have a read so to get a better understanding myself.Knowledge is power and all that

Whatever youre doing works, if it isnt broke dont fix it lol. Im just wanting to put my best foot forward, plus the wife gave the green light on the purchase of one because we’ve never really been comfortable drinking the water with all the farms around. Menonnites are good people but they’ll dump anything and everything on their fields. Farmers in my area get fined all the time for not having their manures covered etc

90 gallons a day is a good rate, but it will be for the cleanest water. You may get 20 gallons a day if your water is really hard. If you need a lot of water at one time a bigger tank is a good buy. I put a 14 gallon tank on mine and it has a reserve of 9 gallons. That has been enough to get us through a couple days without water.

I went ahead and ordered it, along with the permeate pump. Wife said it would be worth it in cost savings from
Not buying drinking water alone. Dont have to tell me twice.

Careful drinking RO. It has an EC of 0.0 and leaches nutrients. If you are on a very high nutrients diet plus vitamins it should be fine. It is clean. When they tried it in Russia it caused health issues because the population they tested on did not have enough nutrients intake to counter the leaching.
They sell remineralizing stage if you want drinkable water. PH around 9 once the minerals are added back. Not for growing.
Straight RO water damages super soil as well. I am adding a tiny bit of calmag and ph up to prevent the RO damage.

I heard taht it takes electrolytes from your body several years ago, i googled and some articles said if youre healthy you should be fine.

I’ll probably stick with my well water for soil, and use the ro water for coco
