    Default Claude Monet’s garden Giverny

So it turns out my mother in-law is a thief. This year she visited Monet’s garden in Giverny France. Where he painted the famous Water Lillie’s canvasses. While there she took some sneaky cuttings…daylight robbery.

Anyway, they rooted in tap water and we now have one on our kitchen windowsill, thought some of you might be interested.

    It’s called Mona Lavender

One side of the leaves a light green, while the other side a very dark purple that almost glows in sunlight.
    (apologies the dirty thumb nail)

    She’s a witch Ice!

lol I’m only saying that because I know she’ll never read this.

They do look similar but they have quite a furry texture, but yes they could be related somewhere down the line.

(She’s alright actually, as mother in laws go, she’s pretty cool)

LOL that made me laugh..I wonder if you had to check behind you before typing, cos those witches can turn up anywhere and anytime Vlad

Yeah, Strawberry leaves are quite furry too, but having a quick google, looks like they are not related as far as I can see.

She's an absolute legend in my mind! What a great story and the specimen is stunning.

Also, dude, we're all gardeners here. Dirty nails mean you're having a good time.
