Why? Because someone received a light with no brackets from a 3rd party vendor off Ebay. Horrific customer service, I know. The vendor is not contacted. Paypal is not contacted. Nope. A sales/marketing employee that is a sponsor(with an obvious language barrier) of a forum is contacted, who im sure doesnt even have the ability to process a refund or send a new light. I know when I buy something from walmart that doesnt work-i dont even go into the store i bought it from, i call the guy who cleans the toilets at a walmart halfway across the country.

Shit is ridiculous. A sponsor was ran off the site, one who gave away great lights like every other month. The paying for shipping on that free tent one was handled incredibly bad, obviously. But wow.
I did not say one was better then the other! Gave no opinion about brands. I see people offering a lot of choices out there. That's it.

Also sponsor was not run off. They are still a sponsor. There were things behind the scenes that you are not privy too that played a role
    in what went down.

Wasnt a finger blue, and what you commented on was actually good info about the footprint of the lights.

The OPs question was answered on page 1, an se3000 will suffice. Spiderfarmer are a good sponsor and I greatly appreciate the light I won, I think they also tried to promote their own grow forum recently lol. The op has his answer, anything else here he can freely ignore, discussion is a big part of this place. If every thread ended with 1 direct answer as quick as possible it'd be a terribly boring place

bear in mind you will possibly have to heat the tent as LEDS run so cool, compared to HPS

Since we're into the discussion portion:

If money weren't an issue and every light maker made the exact same lights, I'd get a light that could flower a 4x4 for my 3x3 tent.

Now I agree with the other posters above that 300w is the correct amount in 9sqft. That said, I'd rather dim a larger bar light for a more even spread to the corners. If money were no issue that is.

Cheers. It's been interesting seeing the attitudes towards lighting change over time for sure.

I’d just like to chime in that a 300w led light won’t necessarily give you the same yield as a 600w hps.

I have moved from 600w hps to 600w led and results are comparable.
I also have to supplement more heat now when using led.

So bear in mind that yield may be less and you may need to heat, before making a decision about whether there are any savings to be made.

Thanks you all - I really appreciate your advice

I've often looked at the SF brand over the years when I've considered LED and it seems to be a good company and product.
With current leccy prices a single grow will now be around £250 with my 400w/600w MH/HPS setup
In April that's due to increase by about 73% or over £400 a grow!! unless the govt does something.

The HGL looks a fine bit of kit too and proably overall a better LED, but more expensive and when the tent sucks in due to the extractor it would likely touch the ends of the lamp. Ideal for a slightly bigger tent and budget.

So I'll go for the SE3000 - I'm sure it'll do the job well from what you guys have said, it'll be quite a bit cheaper and by using less leccy I'll be doing my bit for the environment too
I'm sure it'll provide enough weed for me

@£20 a gram, so you're still saving money either way
the lumatek 600w zeus has an efficiency of 2.3 µmol/J

would definitely help come the summer months when heat build up is an actual problem for most growers
