Default PI Grow Diary- Golden Nugget

THANK YOU little baby Jesus, I can finally start a new diary!!!

Though, forums give you the ability to only talk about your wins, I very much like THCtalk, because I feel so comfortable talking about my loses; I believe mistakes are truly the best way to learn ANYTHING. And based on that belief, I still have a lot to learn…

It’s been rough! Since I harvested my last girl (Cindy Jock) in May, I have had 2 out of 17 seeds seeds pop.

BIG shout out to GEORGE, for not only the lights for my nursery, but for the Golden Nugget (photo) seeds that FINALLY POPPED!
    WEEK ONE (October 8)
The last attempt only gave me one viable seedling..

    Attachment 431265
A second one (above seedling) tried, but couldn’t quite get it up. I tossed the rest, and as I was cleaning out the tray, I found one root riot cube with a popped seed that hadn’t surfaced. Put her in a new root riot cube, and..Attachment 431266

Meanwhile, barney_b took pity on me, and gave me two Double Grape (auto) babies, since he didn’t need them (you know, because even his SAFETY seeds pop) and they were brought home on

Meanwhile, it looked like my little Nuggets were stretching, so I put them on a stool.

So I put them together, because the autos looked like they weren’t tolerating the light (looked like a slight burn on leaves). Now, after a few days, I’m trying to figure out how to go forward. I was reading up on some info on lights:

They had mentioned photos can be under 24 hour lights like autos, cost being the deterrent that created the widely used practice of the 18/6 cycle. So, this would imply that one could grow autos AND photos in 24/0 AND 18/6 light cycles.

???? Anyone have any insight on this????

With my unfortunate “education” in germination, I’m way behind on what I’d thought would be my winter stash ( sorry, again, about gankin’ your mimosa cake barney_b, hope the Blue Dream helps!). I’m curious as to experience, and if it’s worth it.Click image for larger version.

    Good luck PI.

Yes you can grow both on 18/6-24/0 if you please, the auto's will however do better with 20/4-24/0 light,it will also make your photo seedlings grow faster.

Autos can grow under any light cycle.
Photos veg on anything more than 14 hours a day of light and switch to flower with the 12/12 light cycle. I prefer 24/0 because i don't have to set the timer. I feel like 18/6 might be giving stronger, less hollow stems but have not compared this with a side by side .
I mostly grow photos so when I grow an auto they usually finish on 12/12 and I have never had an issue.
My current auto grow was 24/0 until a few weeks into flower and then 12/12 which will remain until finish.
I will soon be starting an auto grow with 12/12 start to finish as a test.

So it looks like my pictures didn’t all load last time, and I don’t quite know how to fix it yet..

    But WEEK 4-
I lost both of my grapes, so I’m just running with my Golden Nugs. My little late bloomer-

And though she reminds me of a guy I dated in college, I’m taking what I can right now, because germination is ROUGH right now! I also figured, it’s a good opportunity to practice triage, treatment, and rehabilitation for my plants.

Meanwhile, my first baby, Gaia (and yes, I name my plants) is doing well, on the other hand..

My light is now at 15%. They were fed a little 4-4-4, and once again, I’m growing in soil…not ashamed to say, I’m not ready for coco..

My mix was coco loco soil, worm castings, 4-4-4, and a compost blend. I molded my holes ….Click image for larger version.

And for the life of me, I could not find my stinky, microbial, fungi stuff. It got late, and I had to go to bed. So I did all the work, but at the end, I wasn’t able to finish.

Let me speak for all Lady Growers, when I say: Boys, we HATE not finishing..

That second plant has come back from so much, I felt like she should get a shot, and she is not disappointing. I originally decided to do this run on 24/0, because I had two autos as well, and I was making up for lost time by running them together. Sadly, my Double Grapes took their own lives, but I have hope they may have roommates again..
