Never a bad time to add to this thread...
Here's one; avoid Reddit for grow advice.
Here's more:
Don't wait on buying tools that measure your inputs, light, and air conditions.
Five things: EC, pH, DLI, VPD, IPM. Learn these things. Control these things.
These are the 5 pillars of growing in coco/hydro.
Don't buy discount seeds! Genetics are the single most determinate factor of your grow. Saving twenty bucks over 3-4 months is not worth it. Get you some killer.
Okay. Later.

I like this thread. Still kind of a new grower myself to be fair but I have two:
1. Try not to overthink. Far more problems are caused by trying to fix what you think you did wrong yesterday than by anything else.
2. Use plants to experiment and be prepared to grow some stinkers. If you have space for multiple plants then great, but if not you can do this one grow to the next. Whether it's watering, training or nutes or whatever, you probably won't find a balance that works for you long term by stumbling on it early on. If you have two plants, go light on watering one and water the other a bit more than you think it needs - see which one thrives. Same with all the other variables. Try to use these early plants as a learning experience rather than aiming to grow trees straight away. It'll pay off in the long run.
