Default Using nail varnish remover to clean mason jars

Might be a daft question but with all the watered down alcohol rub and it costing a lot now I’m wondering if it would be ok to use or do yous recon it could affect the bud

That nail polish is Acetone, use in Fiberglass work. Very strong Chemical.

I personally wouldn't use it. You can still by 99% to 100% Rubbing Achol on the net.

I've been using the 70/80% alcohol hand sanitizer gel to clean scissors and plant iD tags lol.

I gave them a liberal coating and wrapped them in a sandwich bag, the next morning resin/ink was easily wiped off.

I'm not sure how I'd use it on a jar?
Hmm I'd try giving it a wipe around it, close the lid for about an hour and see how it went.

    Good luck.

Cheers Trich good idea on the hand gel, I’ve used the alcohol on them in the past and it does work but it’s awkward and sticky man, if I had grown and dried some nice stuff right though I wouldn’t be arsed about not cleaning it but the last one was real dry and nasty so don’t want any of that shit left in there
    Cheers

you can use the nail polish remover/acetone to strip anything sticky from them. Acetone leaves behind a residue however so you will need to use some soapy water to wash them out afterwards, this is how I used to clean my glass pipes.

Cheers Deku I did the same with the alcohol rub in the past but only have a tiny bit left but the mrs has the nail varnish remover and thought rather than paying out for watered down shit or more money I would use that, I think the alcohol rub has jumped up in price since the pandemic but it might just be me
    Cheers

Acetone is fine imo, its a fast evaporating ketone just like alcohol is. Id just give it a good rinse.

If you're still going to use Acetone (nail varnish remover), remove the rubber seal before you do the cleaning.

But as it is for "food" item, how about using cooking oil, on a cotton ball, and wipe the jar down that way? And wash it like any other dishes afterwards? If your hands are too big, how about using chopsticks or tongs of some sort?

May be it's just me, but I don't like strong stuff like acetone near my "food" related items. And yes, I am not that keen on pear drops.
