The reds are native to the Uk...The American greys where introduced here in the 1890's, they out competed the reds for food and territory which caused a decline in numbers. They are quite rare here now sadly

Yeah European/Asian Red squirrel. Used to be loads in the UK, but the Victorians introduced the American grey squirrel and they took over. Only afew small populations of the red now.

    BL beat me to it

Those little feckers have found some way into my home and make nests during the winter. You can spray for em, but no one has been able to find the damned hole. Smart little buggers they are.

Fox squirrels those are the ones that look like A minter Coon. First time I ever saw one I was deer hunting in North Carolina, I thought they were coons. Haven't ever seen one here in Florida, but people have told me we do have them here.

Had a pumpkin left over, so cut it in half and the squirrel's seem to really like 'em.

I found a grey squirrel baby after hurricane Laura still had eye's close and no hair. Named her pokey. She lived in my house for 2 years.
Running through the rafters . She was a cool companion broke my heart when she died. But I got some great memories of some great times.
I used to hunt and eat those little bastard's now not so much. Gotta be hungry.

Interesting timing. I just had to chase a squirrel out of my garage. My 3 year old thought it was hilarious but the wife is deathly afraid of the buggers... meaning the sons had a good laugh too.

I may need to invest in some humane traps if this keeps up.

    Cheers

That's a nice story Tommy..I've seen videos on youtube showing squirrels that are very friendly, sitting in some guys hand getting fed peanutes etc lol. I'm guessing some of them have been brought up by humans and some that have developed a 'bond' over time.

I wouldn't mind them if it wasn't for the fact they're always after my bloody lemons..I'd happily share one or two but they're after them all!
