    Default Holidays...

In the UK the legal, minimum, requirements for holidays is 4 weeks (well, 20 days, but, used sensibly, is 4 weeks) & bank holidays (7 I think?) - (or in lieu of a worked bank holiday)

So, the UK's minimum requirement for staff holidays is 27 days per year...

... what do people in other countries get as a minimum, lawful requirement?

I actually have no real idea of this, hence the question...

Yep, just the big ones, and for some reason they don't count 4/20, even though there are more participants of it than any religion in the world.

That sounds poor.... is it just the day, or is it, like a week you get?

By law, just the day of x, but in the states it really just depends on who you work for, your company will generally take way better care of you than what is required of them, atleast that has been my experience I'm sure it's not been the same for everyone. Like this week I'll only get Thursday off in celebration of Thanksgiving, but my company is having a lunch out at a pretty decent restaurant tomorrow, but we get nothing like what some of the Canadians I have talked to while they were on a 2 month long vacation. It blew my mind the first time I heard of it.

To me, it gets interesting about workers rights across the globe. Some countries workers seem better off than others... and it's not all about how wealthy the country is!

Here is a copy and past I stole from Google.
US workers are not legally entitled to any paid holiday at all. However, in reality, most US employers offer paid vacation time to their workers. The number of days varies from employer to employer, but on average, US workers receive around ten days of paid holiday each year. In addition, time off is often accrued, which means that US staff will need to be working in their job for 12 months before they’re entitled to ten days of holiday.

I have recently started a new job and I get two weeks of paid vacation time in addition to Hollidays.
