Hope they pop for you bud

Hmm no, I wouldn't feel comfortable with it drying out like that so quickly, either the temps are too high, humidity is too low, or a mix of both.

If you want to proceed with the paper towel method in your environment, then I would use a container, or ziplock bag to keep the moisture inside as the paper does seem to be drying out too quickly, but make sure the paper towel isn't soaking wet, just moist.

Is 25/26 too high? I’ll lower to 23-24? Some are coming through but only a few. The rest I can see split a tiny bit but can’t see them moving any more it’s been 5 days thanks

No, that should be fine, but it could be higher than what it's showing. Main thing is from what you're saying..it's drying too fast, so best to keep them in a container or ziplock bag and it will solve that issue

I scarify my seeds gorse by shaking for 30 secs in a matchbox lined with fine sandpaper.

Then I soak in aged water at room temp for about 8 to 12 hours.

Finally, I sandwich each seed individually between 2 damp but not soaking wet cotton wool pads and stand them vertically (propped up in a small biscuit tray)in a heated propagator in a dark cupboard. Re-moisten pads as needed.

I get about a 90% germination rate, usually within about 24 to 36 hrs from that point.

It's for the 12 weeks after that that I have the problems.

Quality of seeds and how they've been looked after by the supplier must make a big difference as well.

Floater method on heat mat in germ Station with air temp 28°
Most will pop in the first 12 hours.
Fastest method I've found after trying every method over the years.
    Try it,you might like it

I soak Root Riots in a lightly dosed Canna Rhizotonic solution, plop a seed in and stick it in a tiny LED germination station. 2 to 3 days later its transferred into a 5 or 7 gallon fabric pot that was heavily watered 48 hours prior. Mediums I use are Bio Bizz lite or Fox Farms happy Frog.
