Thread: fav training technique

  1. Default

I tried 'Ponytailing' on my wifes hair once..she wasn't impressed.

I have actually tried ponytailing on a cannabis plant and I found it to be ok, a way of lifting those top leaves out of the way for more light to hit the lower leaves.

In the bonsai hobby it's called 'back budding'. You basically just remove the tips of branches to reallocate auxins to the remaining growth tips. So you're forcing budding back on the branch. It helps fill out the pads as your developing a tree.

In the cannabis hobby, this is just called topping.

Do it to every bud, and it supposedly makes the buds widen out.

Both techniques look really interesting, I have some foxtails on my Black Domina so I’ll try the Backbuilding on a couple and see how they go.

Thanks for the lesson all, much appreciated

Looking at all this, it gives me an idea on how to use those plastic C clips things I bought. I think I will try them on my big fan leaves, to see if they will put them away from blocking the bud sites. Thanks, people, for this post. whoop whoop
