Default One Year of Growing - Haven't Stopped Since

I started growing cannabis in September 2021 and I haven't stopped since.

The old saying that you don't get addicted to weed, but you sure do get addicted to growing it could end up on my tombstone.

I'm always in search of a cannabis website to place my grow journals. I've been an amature shutterbug since junior high, so I post a lot of photos. I also track a lot of statisics.

I am just starting a grow with one plant of Blackstrap by Gnome Automatics (collaboration with Brothers Mendel). It will end up in a tent with other autos that have a 40-day head start. I have that journal in a few places, so the one I start here will be just the Blackstrap. The on-going grow is Critical Purple, Gorilla Glue and Purple Lemonade (x2). The Blackstrap broke through the Coco this morning.

Back to the introduction ... I'm a retired guy in the Midwest. For 9 years, the Navy took me all around the world and when I got out in 2000 I went home to Texas. I stayed there for about 18 years and in 2018 relocated to the Midwest. My mother and I owned a trucking company. In 2017, she died of a super rare brain cancer called primary central nervous system lymphoma (CNS).

Why would I leave a state with no income tax for one that does? It all goes back to childhood. In 1975, my new step-dad moved my mom and me to Missouri. I was here from 6th grade to high-school graduation in 1982. This place represented some of the best and happiest years of my life. I kept my core friends and visited most years from 1982 until I moved back here in 2018.

Mom's passing opened a window to start a new life. I ended up across the river in the land of high taxes. Even so, we live in out in the country where things are nice and peaceful. There's no stop sign in our town an we just got a grocery store. Hey, that was big news. I'm surrounding by 1000s of acres of corn and soybeans fields. The only down side is that my wife's family all live in Texas. But we make it work.

Nice to be here. Be sure to visit my impending Grow Journal.

Hi and welcome to the forum ExNavy, and I agree with you about being addicted to growing weed, and it just doesn't feel right when the tent is empty!

We like pictures and stats here so you posting lots of them will go down very well.

I've heard of Gnome Automatics, and the blackstrap strain specifically..looking forward to seeing how she grows.

Sorry to read about your mother, I lost my old man not too long ago, he was my best friend and hero, it's painful, and a wound that never seems to heal, but we gotto keep moving forward as best we can hey.

Will be following along with your diary once you're ready

I'm a planowner on CVN-73. Got to ride on her maiden deployment (MED). Everything from a major MOGAS fire to handling the President for the 50th Commemoration of D-Day. Oh yeah, and Sadaam getting froggy again on the Kuwaiti border. It was enough to turn us around after just passing through the Suez Canal going the other way.

Our 2-week relief in the Persian Gulf turn into 2-months. It cost us two port visits, that was our main concern.

I got to Newport News Shipyards when the still had rust on her. After that we stayed on Pier 11 mostly in Norfolk when not doing sea trials, etc.

I was a Journalist First Class when I got out. On the ship I was the nightly news anchor. The PAO shop was at the base of the Island just above the Quarterdeck.

Luckily, we had a berthing off the messdecks that held less than 20 people.

Shaun your boot camp photo made me chuckle. Mostly, the In-Service Ribbon.

I spent the majority of the Gulf War in boot camp at Great Lakes (Jan-March 1991). We were still issued the In-Service ribbon.

Because the war was broadcast in real-time, they called it the "CNN" ribbon.

I actually enjoyed aircraft-carrier duty. Even so, I didn't opt to stay longer than my 4 years.

After the ship, I was stationed in London for 2 years. That was near Marble Arch and Hyde Park on North Audley Street. We were at an angle to the American Embassy. They've since moved the Embassy across town.

    Those were 2 awesome years.

After that, I transferred back stateside to the D.C. area (Fort Meade). I was a television news production instructor. So, we sent students out for various assignments. That's where NSA is and we constantly had students getting in trouble for trying to take pictures or video of the building.

I bought a houseboat (1972 model) and lived in Baltimore Harbor in an area of town called Fells Point. Back then it was like a mini New Orleans. Cobble stone streets and lots of bars and live music.

I liked the boat too. Everything you need was there. 2 gyms and the galley was open 24/7. Only thing i didnt like about it was you had to wait in line for everything. You’ll get that when theres 5,000+ people living on the same boat.

We stayed in guest birthing too, since we werent considered ships company. I remember a senior chief came in during general quarters and we were all watching the pre-release version of wolverine. Lost his goddamned mind lol
