A lot of times I can only go 33 days max before flip, reason being not enough head room.

Oh I see, short veg so that all the buds stay in the sweet zone when flowering. Thanks for clarifying. I use MH for veg and a couple of weeks after the flip, it helps keeps the internodes tight and the stretch to a minimum.

i planted 3 northern lights and 4 white widow, the northern lights flowered at started flowering at 8 weeks, the white widow did not, so i read online to put them in total darkness for 48 hours and they would start to flower...they did, i moved them back to my tent, with 20-4 light schedule and all is well after a week, nice buds are forming on the ww...good luck

I want to join this conversation instead starting a new thread for a similar situation.

My story is a 72-Day old Critical Purple Auto that refuses to cross over into Flower.

I had a rough start to this grow, nothing catastropic, but there was stunting early on. Some bounced back, others just took their own freaky path.

Let's first introduce you to the other players in the tent.

As you look at the group shot, the Gorilla Glue (front, right), Critical Purple (back, right) and the two Purple Lemonades on the right are all the same age.

The first thing you notice is the Purple Lemonades, they never thrived. They decided to go with the popcicle look.

Gorilla Glue was slow to grow and never got about 12" or so. The flowering you see here on GG is relatively new. That's why I didn't worry much about Critical Purple until now.

They had their own adventure and their outcomes are just as diverse.

She gets those pistil-looking growths and you think, "today is the day, or tomorrow I'll wake up and flowering will be obvious."

    Alas, the day never comes.

Before I ask my questions, I'll tell what I do know as of now.

I know this happens to Autos sometimes and often the suggestion is to switch to a 12/12 cycle to jump start the process.

    (1) What I don't know yet: if this 12/12 timing works, do I come back to 18/6 and carry on smartly?

(1a) Or do I just ride it out as though it were a photoperiod at 12/12.

    Now for the Prisoner's Dilemma:

I have 5 other plants in the tent and all of them are autos.

I do understand that Autos can Veg and Flower in 12/12 lighting, but they won't end up anywhere near their potential.

So this leads me to the big question:

    (2) Can I do this experiment on the whole tent to 12/12 for a week or less and then bring them back to 18/6?

The last thing I want is a Hermie Forest in there.

    What to do?

I realized that I didn't include closeups from today.

There is one that looks like flowers are forming down the stem.

Maybe these questions are all for naught.

Even so, it would be nice for fresh eyes to tell me what they see.

All 4 were taken today (D72), just a few minutes ago.

Here is what I decided to do ...

    Day 73 - Update

The concensus seems to be that I should flip to 12/12 to goose the CP along.

Of course, that leaves me with what to do with the other plants.

The older ones (GG and 2 PLs) are going to finish out 12/12.

The younger plants (Mystery & Blackstrap) are moved to my Veg 2x4.

It's not ideal with this 75w light.

Although, the light is an LED full spectrum Spider Farmer. It has the spectrum to finish a plant, but the wattage means close proximity to get the proper DLI.

But, by moving these two to 20/4, I can get the DLI to the mid 30s.

The Mystery Seed is still on its BluMat, and the Blackstrap is happy in the SIP bucket.

To make up for the low wattage, I'm thinking about pilfering one of my Mars SP-3000 lights out of the big tent. I have a cheap(er) Chinese LED in there, now supplementing the 2 SPs.

I put that third light in there to help with the two new younger plants in the middle (now moved to the 2x4).

The Purple Lemonades are just puffing up and finishing, so they can finish up while under the cheaper light. While CP and GG ride out in style.

    Thanks IceCalibur:

My comment above is because I wrote to what I thought was a new post, but it was the actual opening poster.

I was thinking someone else tageed along on this thread like I did.

It was a "Doh" face palm moment.

I'll update this thread in a bit and add to my Grow Diary as well in a few. Working on it now.

Those last closeups are all showing flowers forming. As soon as I see white hairs I'm happy. I've only ever grown autos and have had them start to flower from 4 weeks to 7 or 8 weeks.
I have 2 side by side under the same light now. Both seed from the same pack. One flowered day 35, the other started on day 46 so I reckon yours will be fine with the rest personally
