Yep, that's the way it is. We also do it in Degrees C and not that infernally complicated Degrees F! Oh and kgs not pounds! But seriously, it is fun trying to beat this heat and clear skies which are predicted to get worse due to climate change in my part of the world. We even have desalination plants to supplement our underground water supplies as rainwater run off to dams is a thing of the past these days. I grow outside in pots when the weather is suitable, hot or cold and inside a cabinet in a shed when its time to flip or the weather is destructive. It's often a matter of timing and maybe a quiet prayer!!!

I am in northern Europe and on a hot day in summer we can maybe expect 40C in direct sunlight, but not so commonly. However on average lower more like 30C in direct sun. I do micro grow and have a very easy way of diverting some heat from the roots. My very small pots 1 - 1.5L max dry out fast, especially towards the end in even 20C.. I try and help the roots a bit by folding and wrapping a sheet of A4 white paper round and taping it on double thickness.. that reflect light and takes the rays off the pot surface and cools by a few degrees. It is basic but helpful. I had the opposite problem here recently after a late start auto, night temps were below 10C so I had challenges to deal with. Good luck and interesting to read about.
Is there some way you can grow just on the outside of a shadey spot ? And did you know that trees with a lot of foliage on them cool the air surrounding them.
If you can get on the edge of a shaded area the air maybe 2-3C cooler around the edge of shade or trees. Maybe you can sacrifice 3 hours of light and importantly heat between 1pm and 4pm?
I would investigate that simple plan, big pots painted white to reflect heat but not so big they cannot be moved into shade for 3 hours of the extreme heat of the day.
And probably end up with a better result with less heat stress.
I think it is the lucky few who have an ideal situation 99pct of people have to do work arounds for a way that works for them. I have been thinking a lot about increasing pot sizes... in the balance I am going to keep things tiny. My needs are small and I can mitigate a lot of risk by making a tiny plant vanish if need be. That can be important too ! Live to grow another day. We allk have challenges and you will manage. My goals of fat buds are balanced against making plants vanish, reduce smell and being as discrete as possible for growing a massively stinking plant.

Thanks for the tips. Like you I also wrap my outside pots in reflective material but I use SISAL aluminium roof insulation that is hot glued to the 30 litre pots. I also use thick mulch on the pot. However, it's the high direct sun temps and very dry climate that gives me problems. I can have 33C to 45C with only 30% Relative Humidity. Keeping the leaf temp down and reducing the Vapour Pressure Deficit down is a major challenge. I also grow in a small cabinet inside a shed but even that gets hot and the RH & VPD problem remains, but less so. Its either greatly increase the humidity near the pots and/or air condition the cabinet. All extra costs that I don't really need or want. For the outside grows I'm using the "Coolgardie Safe" effect and for the cabinet I've acquired a cheap humidifier.
Living in bright sunshine and clear skies is great but not when growing in summer!

38.5 °C in the shade here yesterday at 37°N southern Europe, plant didn't flinch while sitting in full sun
