    Default Sylvania 600W Grolux

How many grows can I expect from this bulb? I currently do 2 grows but was wondering if the bulb would manage 3 or even more?

Bulb has a 26,000 hour rating. Maybe about 8 grows to play it safe.

That's much more than I expected. Glad about that.
    Thank you.

also depends on if you run photos or autos , would last longer for photo period seeds as you use the lights less extending your light life

    Thanks again.
I usually replace after a couple of grows as I was under the impression that the lamp's efficiency deteriorated quite quickly over that time but, quite happy to let it reach 'burn out' stage as @GEORGE suggested. Money is tight, as I'm sure it is with one or two of you also, so any help in making my grow more efficient cost wise, is very welcome. Thanks again.

I replace my bulbs when they burn out. I see no real difference from old bulb to new bulb

I tried to replace them every grow.

Just 1% yeild increase from a new 600w makes it a bargain at £25

I also wait till they burn out.

I’ve noticed over the years that I replace my Metal Halide tubes far more often than HPS but the usage per grow is usually around the same number of hours. I’ll have to replace the MH every 3rd grow or so, HPS I’ll usually get at least 5. I did read somewhere that MH last longer burning in a horizontal position rather than vertical, I use a parabolic reflector so maybe that’s not helping.

My 250w Lumitech CFL I’ve had 5 years and it burns 24/7 for 9 months a year….I suppose I should really think about buying a new one, but the only problem is, I’m very tight.
